Introduction

Congratulations on your new website launch! We can imagine you have some things you want to do on your site but the first thing you will need to do before any of that is to log in as an admin user. This guide will explain how you can go about this.

Logging in as an admin

On your website, there is no dedicated button that allows you to login. To login instead, at the top of your web browser you will see your website address. Click into it and you just need to add the following to the end of the website address: /wp-admin. For example: www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.

Press enter and this will then take you to the login screen as shown below, where you enter your username and password. These should have been provided to you when your new site was launched. Then select ‘Log in’.

You will be taken to the website dashboard admin by default. From here, you can manage specific content on your website. We will cover in other dedicated guides.

Changing your password

If you have been provided a temporary password, once you login you can change this. We do recommend you change your password to seomthing only you know.

ou might already know this but here are the following steps anyway:
  • in the dashboard, click in the top right where it should say your username
  • click edit profile
  • scroll down, click generate password and then change this to something only you know
  • click update profile

Forgotten your login details?

If you’ve forgotten your password, click the ‘lost your password’ link and instructions will be sent to your email. Follow these to set up a temporary password.

If you’ve forgotton all of your account details, please get in touch with us and we can help to recover these to send to you.
